My First Quarter Reflection

The first quarter of this school year has been a journey filled with new lessons, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Looking back on the past few months, I can say that it has been both a test of patience and a period of self-discovery.

Throughout this quarter, I have learned to manage my time better and develop a stronger sense of responsibility toward my studies. I discovered that learning is not only about memorizing facts but also about understanding concepts and applying them in real-life situations. I also found that asking questions and participating actively in discussions can deepen my understanding and make lessons more meaningful. Another important discovery is the value of collaboration—working with classmates not only helps in sharing ideas but also builds stronger relationships and teamwork skills.

I faced difficulties balancing academic tasks with personal time, especially when several deadlines piled up at once. There were also topics that seemed too complex at first, making me feel overwhelmed and frustrated. At times, I doubted my abilities and felt pressured to perform well, which sometimes affected my confidence.

As I move forward into the next quarter, I will continue to build on the lessons I have learned. I plan to become more proactive in my studies by preparing in advance and reviewing lessons regularly.

Nutrition month celebration 2025

Every year, Nutrition Month is more than just a celebration—it is a call to action. This 202 theme
"Food at nutrition security" powerfully reminds us that access to sufficient and nutritious food is not a luxury—it is a basic human right.

The main goal of this year’s advocacy is to prioritize food and nutrition security for all Filipinos. It highlights the urgent need for everyone—from government officials to community leaders, families, and individuals—to work together in ensuring that every person, especially the vulnerable sectors, has consistent access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food.

Nutrition security goes beyond just having food on the table. It means having the right kind of foodthat meets our body’s nutritional needs so we can grow, learn, work, and live healthy lives. This year’s theme emphasizes that food is right , not a privilege—and that hunger and malnutrition are issues that must be addressed with urgency and compassion.

Joining NutriJingle was more than just a school activity for me—it was an experience that left a lasting mark. From the moment we started practicing, to the day we performed, I felt a mix of excitement, nervousness, and pride. Standing on stage, the lights bright and the audience waiting, my heart was racing. But as soon as the music started, everything just flowed. Our message about nutrition and healthy living came alive through our voices and movements. The applause we received wasn’t just for the performance, but for the effort, teamwork, and passion behind it. NutriJingle wasn’t only about singing or performing—it was about sharing something meaningful. It taught me how powerful music can be in spreading awareness and inspiring others. I also discovered how much I enjoy performing when it’s for a good cause.

A letter to the President

Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
President of the Philippines
August 25, 2025

Dear, Mr. President:

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing this letter not just a student, but someone who deeply cares about the present and future of our beloved country. I am aware that the responsibility of being a President is immense, and I respect the weight you carry each day. However, I hope you will take the time to listen not just to your advisers or the officials around you but to the voices of ordinary Filipinos like me.

Many Filipinos still suffers in silence. The prices of basic goods have become unbearable. A kilo of rice now costs more than what a day's wage can cover for many. Jeepney drivers are forced to stop working because of modernization plans they cannot afford. Students are losing motivation due to the poor quality of our education system. Farmers are crying for help as imported goods flood our markets crush their livelihood. These are not just headlines. These are real stories, real struggles, and real pain.

Mr, President, I want you to know how hard it is to stay hopeful when your stomach is empty, or when your parents have to choose between buying medicine or eating dinner. i want you to imagine the life of a fisherman who sails everyday risking his life, only to return with barely enough catch to feed his family. I want you to think about the child who walks kilometers to reach a school with broken chairs, no books, and hungry classmates.

Where is the "Bagong Pilipinas" you promise, for these people?

I do not write this letter this letter to blame or attack. I write because I still want to believe that things can change. I want to believe that leaders can listen. That they can lead with compassion and courage. I want to believe that despite your family's complicated history, you can rise above it and prove to the nation that redemption and transformation is possible. I pray that you surround yourself with honest people. That you make decisions that are not just politically convenient, but morally right. That you use your power not to protect the powerful but to lift up the powerless.

We are watching, we are waiting, and we are still hoping.

Maraming salamat po sa inyong serbisyo, I pray that you will make decisions that truly uplift the lives of all Filipinos.

Respectfully,
Lorise Jan Melisynth Reintar

Who Am i?

Who am i? This question seems simple, yet it holds incredible depth. For a long time, I searched for the answer outside myself trying to lift into expectations, labels and roles that others placed on me. But with time and growth. I've realized that the answer isn't found in the opinions of others. It's found within.

My name is Lorise Jan Melisynth Reintar and I'm 15 years old. I was born on January 23, 2010 in Gabriela Silang Hospital . I came from a family of four, my loving parents, and my younger brother. I'm currently studying at Ilocos Sur National High School, a grade 10 student from Special Mathematics Class, my adviser is Ma'am Leila Rabo. So let me tell you a little about Who I am. I'm someone who enjoys exploring my interests and expressing myself through the things I love. In my free time, I enjoy reading Wattpad book, spending time with my family and listening to music which help me relax and stay connected to my inner self. When it comes to my likes dislikes, I like watching kdramas, I like to play Volleyball and I like people who are understanding and smiles a lot. And when it comes to my dislikes, I don't like when someone is disturbing me when I'm busy, I hate people who are mocking someone's insecurities and the one that i hate the most is vegetables, for me vegetables taste horrible.

I have big dreams for the future, whether it's pursuing my career and travelling the world. My goal is to be a successful doctor, and to travel the world together with my family and loved ones. These goals aren't just dreams they're a reflection of who I am and the life I want to create.

Who I am today isn't the final version of me. I'm constantly becoming shaped by what i experience, who i meet, and how i choose to show up in the world. And that's the beauty of it.
